Privacy Policy

Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how NyaIcon (“NyaIcon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use the NyaIcon website, Mac app, APIs, icon catalog, and related online services (together, the “Services”).
The current free version does not require an account, purchase, license key, or device activation. Icon changes and imported artwork are handled locally on your Mac; browsing or downloading catalog content requires an online request.
1. Information we collect
Local app data
NyaIcon may store preferences, favorites, recent activity, icon backups, and imported artwork on your Mac so the app can apply, undo, and restore icon changes. The current beta does not upload imported artwork or icon backups to NyaIcon.
Catalog requests
When you browse or download a theme, our servers receive the request and the technical information ordinarily sent with it, such as IP address, request time, app version, operating-system information, response status, and error details.
Support communications
We receive the information you provide when you contact support, including your email address, message, attachments, and any app, macOS, or device details you choose to share.
Service and security logs
Our systems may record IP address, request time, browser or app details, device and operating-system information, response status, error information, and security events. We use these records to operate, diagnose, and protect the Services.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and deliver NyaIcon and its icon catalog.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and excessive automated traffic.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
- Answer support requests and send important service or policy notices.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. Cookies and browser storage
The current public website does not require an account and does not store a NyaIcon sign-in session. Our hosting or security providers may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies to deliver and protect the site.
The current website does not load third-party advertising trackers or analytics scripts. It requests the Inter typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google may receive network information such as your IP address and browser details when the font loads.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Google for web fonts and infrastructure providers for hosting, security, and delivery.
- At your direction: when you ask us to connect a feature or otherwise consent to the disclosure.
- Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce our agreements.
- Business changes: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.
- Aggregated information: information that does not reasonably identify an individual may be used or disclosed for product and operational purposes.
Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy policy.
5. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections and access controls.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for protecting access to your Mac and email.
6. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the Services, comply with law, and resolve disputes.
- Service logs: retained for a limited period needed for reliability, security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
- Support messages: retained while needed to answer your request and maintain an appropriate support record.
These periods are operational defaults and may change as the Services evolve. Backups and legal holds may delay deletion for a limited period.
7. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information. You may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or receive portable data. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and legal exceptions may apply.
You can stop using the online catalog and delete locally stored app data by removing the app and its local files. California residents may also request information about covered collection and disclosure practices. NyaIcon does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To submit a privacy request, contact privacy@nyaicon.com. You may use an authorized agent where applicable law permits.
8. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child below the applicable age without required parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. International data transfers
NyaIcon and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data-protection laws from your location. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy and change the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when reasonably practical.
